METHYL ISOBUTYL KETONE (MIBK)
MIBK (Methylisobutylketone) is a stable, medium evaporating liquid and compatible with many organic materials, which makes it a good industrial solvent
MIBK usually in liquid form, which can change into a gas. MIBK will dissolve in water, alcohols, benzenes and ethers.

Applications:
Used as a solvent for nitrocellulose, lacquers, certain polymers and resins.
As a precursor to N-(1,3-dimethylbutyl)-N'-phenyl-p-phenylene diamine (6PPD), an antiozonant used in tires.
It is used in the pharmaceutical, agrochemical industries. As a solvent in paints, lacquers, varnishes and adhesives.
It is an active solvent for many synthetic resins including cellulosic, vinyl copolymers, acrylics, alkyds, polyesters, and epoxies. Used as an extraction agent in the de-waxing and de-oiling of petroleum products.
