Propylene Glycol is an organic compound, it is a viscous, colourless, nearly odourless liquid with faintly sweet taste. It is miscible with a broad range of solvents like water, acetone and chloroform. Propylene Glycol (PG)- IP Grade meets the requirement of Indian Pharmacopoeia.

Applications:

Used as a solvent for flavours, extracts, drug and food anti-oxidants, a heat transfer medium, an emollient and humectants and plasticizers for tobacco products, baked foods, coconut, adhesives and paper products.
Used as a solvent in the extraction of crude drugs.
As an inhibitor of fermentation and mold growth.
Used in chemical, food, and pharmaceutical industries as an antifreeze when leakage might lead to contact with food. Propylene glycol is also used to make polyester compounds, and as a base for deciding solutions.
