Applications:
Acetaldehyde is widely used for the synthesis of other chemicals. It is used in the manufacture of different derivatives like ethyl acetate, pentaerythritol and pyridines.
It is used as a solvent in the rubber, tanning and paper industries, as a fruit and fish preservative, as a flavouring agent, as a denaturant for alcohol and in fuel compositions.
It is used in the production of perfumes, polyester resins and basic dyes.
