Cychlohexane

CYCHLOHEXANE

Cychlohexane is colourless, flammable liquid with a distinctive detergent like odor. It is mainly used for the industrial production of Adipic acid and Caprolactam, which are precursor to nylon. Immiscible in water.

Applications:

Cychlohexane is extensively used as a non-polar solvent for the chemical industry, and in the processing of paint, ink and rubber.
It is also used as a paint remover &varnish remover.
As a recrystallisation solvent, as many organic compounds exhibit good solubility in hot cyclohexane and poor solubility as low temperature.
In the production of Cyclohexanol and Cyclohexanone, which are then used in the production of adipic acid & caprolactam.
