DEG is an organic compound which is colourless, odourless, poisonous, hygroscopic liquid with a sweetish taste. It is miscible in water, alcohol, acetone and ethylene glycol.

Applications:

It is used in the manufacture of saturated and unsaturated polyester resins, polyurethanes, and plastisizers. As a solvent for nitrocellulose, resins, dyes, oils and other organic compounds.
As a humectants for tobacco, printing ink and glue. Used in brake fluid, lubricants and personal care products.
As a solvent in textile dyeing and printing, as a plasticizer for paper, cork and synthetic sponges, as a raw material for the production of esters used as emulsifiers, demusifiers and lubricants.
