Dipropylene Glycol is a clear, colourless, odourless liquid, completely soluble in water. It is hygroscopic liquid having low volatility and mild odor.
It is miscible in all proportions with low molecular weight aliphatic alcohols and ketones. It is slightly to moderately soluble in aromatics hydrocarbon solvents.

Applications:

Dipropylene glycol is used as a raw material in the preparation of plasticizers and polyester resins.
As a solvent in fragrances and cosmetic industry. In urethane polyols, alkyd resins, functional fluids, etc. It is ideal solvent for perfumes and cosmetics.
As a solvent in steam set printing inks and in processes to extract aromatics from hydrocarbon mixtures. As a coupling agent in hydraulic fluids and textile lubricants.
It is used for cutting oils, in hydraulic brake fluids production and as a solvent for agricultural chemicals such as insecticides.
As a solvent for nitrocellulose, cellulose acetate, lacquers and coatings.
