Applications:
Hexamine is used as a catalyst in the manufacture of “Bakelite phenol formaldehyde” molding powders. It is used as an antibiotic to treat bladder and kidney infections.
It is used as a food additive as a food preservative.
It is used in making coating and sealing compounds, as cross linking agent for hardening phenol-formaldehyde resins & vulcanizing rubber. It is widely used in making explosives like RDX.
It is used in the manufacture of plastics, paints, textiles, cement fertilizers, pesticides, solid fuel tablets, etc.
