Applications:
N-Pentane is mainly used as a blowing agent in the manufacturing of polystyrene foam.
It is used as an additive in automotive, aviation and farm fuels.
It is also used in artificial ice manufacture, low temperature thermometers and as pesticide.
It is used as a solvent and in making of isopentane by acid-catalysed isomerization process. It is used as a working medium in geothermal power stations and in making some blended refrigerants.
