Pentaerythritol is a white, odourless, crystalline powder soluble in ethanol, ethylene glycol, formamide. It is insoluble in acetone, benzene, paraffin and carbon tetrachloride.

Applications:
Pentaerythritol is used in alkyd resins, radiation cure momomers, polyvinyl chloride, polyurathenes, rosin esters, pigment treatment, antioxidants and explosives.
It is used in printing ink, synthetic rubber, synthetic lubricants, stabilizer for plastics, etc. It is used in alkyd-based coatings, rosin esters such as fatty acid and toll oil esters, hot-melt adhesives, antioxidants and explosives such as “Pentaerythritol Tetranitrate (PETN)”.
